About Us » Action Committees
The Green Corridor’s interconnected Action Committees develop projects and policies to further the Green Corridor’s mission. They are represented by Green Corridor Steering Committee members and staff.
- The Business Development Committee - focuses on green business retention, expansion and attraction; establishment of incubator near Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory/UC Berkeley for spinouts and emerging green businesses; development of green business clusters; and increasing market share for local green businesses. Works in conjunction with UC Berkeley's Technology Commercialization Office, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Haas School of Business, industry partners, and real estate developers.
- The Green Career, Employment & Education Pathways Committee - takes a regional approach to providing the training to meet workforce demands in the green energy fields, while supporting the community’s social & environmental justice goals. Special emphasis is placed on recruiting, mentoring, and placing local youth and incumbent workers in positions that provide a career ladder. Committee seeks funding opportunities, collaborates on grant proposals with the Green Corridor and outside partners.
- The Innovative Policy Committee - considers “cutting edge” climate protection/sustainability policies and approaches for the Green Corridor region with an economic development overlay. Examines “best practices” models, standards, incentives and regulations to be applied throughout the region, and state-of-the art strategies to reduce energy consumption. Coordinates with Business Development Committee to support the growth of small green businesses in the Corridor through policy initiatives.
