The Green Corridor Beta Test Program

The Beta Test Program is for cleantech spinouts from UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and other institutions to use the 8-city region as a living laboratory for prototype development. Whether your innovative technology needs “real life” industrial, commercial or municipal application, the Green Corridor can assist you in finding the ideal pilot site.

The Beta Test Program brings exciting new technology, environmental and economic benefits to the Green Corridor, and helps companies attract early adopters en route to commercialization.

Cleantech Open award winner Alphabet Energy is working with the Green Corridor to apply its waste heat recovery technology developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to industries in the Green Corridor cities as part of the Beta Test Program.

Businesses interested in being considered for the Green Corridor Beta Test Program should submit an email of interest with contact information, brief project description and site requirements to: Green Corridor Director Carla Din, carla@eastbayeda.org.

Cleantech Incubator

The Green Corridor is exploring the development of a Cleantech Incubator located in proximity to UC Berkeley to support innovative clean energy technologies spinning out of UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and beyond.

The incubator will provide affordable and flexible space, shared office services, and business development assistance such as financial and management counseling in an environment conducive to new venture creation, survival and expansion. The incubator will facilitate networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, investors and business advisors and create a supportive, collegial atmosphere.

For graduating incubator companies, the Green Corridor’s “Cradle to Scale” strategy includes the development of “Opportunity Sites,” where we match space needs with appropriate land parcels in the Corridor that meet company needs.
